Second Shooting a Wedding at Mt.Top Inn and Resort, Chittenden, VT
I often have couples ask me if they really need a second photographer on their wedding day and in my opinion even the smallest elopement will benefit from having a second wedding photographer on hand. With the exception of the getting ready photos, where one photographer photographs one person and another photographer photographs the other person, a second photographer can be like a "voyeur" moving about your wedding, finding interesting angles and looking for emotional and fun moments to capture.
Their wedding photographs are usually more documentary and candid, but they can also be photographing your wedding details or the cocktail hour while the main photographer is photographing the formals. However my main reason for encouraging my couples to have a second photographer is the idea of capturing your wedding day from a completely different perspective.
I've had this blog on my mind for ages and when Gael Cantlin mentioned she was doing a wedding alone at Mt. Top Resort in Chittenden,VT which is just down the road from me I asked if I could tag along and try out some new equipment and different angles. She was more than happy to let me and here are some of my favorites photos from the wedding day.
Just think, if there had not been a second photographer on this day, the couple would not have received any of the following photos.
